*Excerpt Reveal* Dane by Leddy Harper

Dane Kauffman: Rich, smart, handsome, and selfless. He’s content with the direction of his life, until the moment he stares into her green eyes.

Eden Clare: Determined, headstrong, and independent. Searching for a job, answers, and a purpose, she has no room for anything else. Until she glances in his direction.

Crossing paths, tempting fate—Dane must make the ultimate decision. Sacrifice everything to get what he wants, or to continue to be benevolent.

“I just don’t want you to regret this.”

"That's not going to happen."  With her shoulders pressed against the side of the pool, I leaned into her, relieved when she allowed me to close the gap between us. When my mouth met hers, she gave in and let me show her how I felt with lips. It wasn't hasty, but slow and soft. I needed her to know I wasn't rushing this. This kiss or this life. There was no need to, because I knew in my bones this was real. No matter what her fears told her, I'd been to hell and back and now had found my heaven. My Eden.

Her nails scratching the hairs on the back of my head sent a wave of ecstasy through me. I held her tighter ad parted her lips with my tongue. My hips rolled into her, my erection pressing against her with enough force to garner a moan. She tightened her legs and began to grind against me. Her body moved like a seductress on the prowl, eliminating all thought from my brain. I didn't care that we were in a pool, fully clothed, in plain sight for anyone peeking out their windows. The rain pelting my skin didn't faze me. All I could focus on was Eden and the things she did to me.

To my body.

My heart.

My life.

"Take me upstairs," she murmured into my mouth.

I nipped her pouty bottom lip and opened my eyes, needing to see her to believe this was all read. "Are you sure? I can let you go right now and we can cool off in the pool before heading up. We don't have to do this if you're not ready."

"I'm ready, Dane."

Her concerns about rushing things filtered into my thoughts. I couldn't risk her doubting anything about us, and if I had to wait before taking the next step with her, I would. I'd do anything to make sure this didn't end. However, the questions refused to surface. Between my brain and my mouth, the words vanished. Instead of slowing down to offer her time, to make sure this was what she truly desired and not merely what her body craved, I carried her to the steps. I set her down and grabbed her hand before dragging her out of the water behind me.

The night air settled a chill over our wet skin, and without a towel to dry off with, we raced to the elevator right off the path from the pool and huddled together for warmth. I'm sure it didn't take that long for the empty cart to make it's way down, but it seemed like an eternity. The ride up dragged on - although I'm sure the silence filled with chattering teeth didn't help slow down time. Nor did the anticipation of getting inside her apartment.

We left behind a trail of water leading into her foyer, where it puddled beneath my feet as I stood with my heart in my throat. The second the door closed, Eden began to strip off her clothes, keeping her back to me. I couldn't move. I was mesmerized by the show in front of me. The way her body stretched as she pulled her top over her head, the ink on her skin fully coming into view. I was lost in the way her hips danced while she shimmied out of her shorts, leaving her in nothing but her bra and panties. With her wet hair to one side, she peered over her should and offered a confident smile.

About Leddy Harper

Leddy Harper had to use her imagination often as a child. She grew up the only girl in a house full of boys. At the age of fourteen, she decided to use that imagination and wrote her first book, and never stopped.

She often calls writing her therapy, using it as a way to deal with issues through the eyes of her characters.

She is now a mother of three girls, leaving her husband as the only man in a house full of females.

The decision to publish her first book was made as a way of showing her children to go after whatever it is they want to. Love what you do and do it well. Most importantly Leddy wanted to teach them what it means to overcome their fears.

Love, pain, distance, and secrets.

Would their challenges tear them apart?

My Review:
4 out of 5 stars

Wow! This book will most definitely take you on an emotional ride and make you feel all sorts of things. I really liked Anna and Ryan. My heart broke for them that they went through such a tragedy and the heartbreak that followed it. Building their relationship back up after being apart for several years went at a nice, steady pace.

Ryan: Whatcha reading?
Anna: Can it, Jacobs.
Ryan: No can do.
Anna: I'm not telling you anything.
Ryan: I knew it!
Anna: Knew what?
Ryan: You are reading the sexy books.
Ryan: I bet you did read the one with the whips.
Ryan: Anna?
Ryan: Hello?
Anna: Goodbye, Ryan.
Ryan: I'm like a dog with a bone, Anna. I'm not giving up.
Anna: You're going to be greatly disappointed.
Ryan: Doubt that.
Anna: What makes you so confident?
Ryan: Because I know I'm right.
Anna: Hate to tell you this, but you're wrong. I haven't read that book.
Anna: Yet ...
Ryan: *groans*
Anna: lol

This week's prompt is: What are some of your favorite TV shows?

Wow!  Are you ready for a really long discussion?  I have several favorites so this could take a while.  ;)

Grey's Anatomy
I started this show to see what all the hype was about and I've been sucked in ever since.  Shonda has shattered my heart so many times I've started to lose count, but I'll always keep watching.

The Walking Dead
So, if you know anything about me at all, you know that if it is creepy, scary, nasty/gory or anything along those lines, I don't want anything to do with it.  I'm a pretty big wimp when it comes to things like that.  I tried to watch the first episode of this show a few years ago and I couldn't get through the first 10 minutes.  When I saw the little zombie girl, I was done.  Well, fast forward to last year, there were posts all over my newsfeed pretty much daily about this show.  I was bored one day, didn't have anything else to watch, so I pulled it up on Netflix and decided to try to watch it again.  I not only got past the first 10 minutes, I got through the first several episodes.  I was a little nauseous, but hey, I did it! I was hooked and have been ever since!

Once Upon a Time
The concept of this show really intrigued me so I decided to check it out.  I'm so glad I did!  I love it.  I found one of my top ships while watching this show.  #CaptainSwan forever

General Hospital
I know.  I know.  A soap.  My mother-in-law watched this show all the time back when I first met my husband and I ended up watching some of the episodes with her.  I got sucked into soap land and have been a fan ever since.

Come on now.  You know I've got to include Friends.  I've watched all of the episodes more times than I can even count, but it's still like watching it for the first time each time.  That really tells you something.  When something you've watched literally more than 50 times can still bring out the intended emotions in you like it's the first time you're watching it, there's something really special about that.  <3

King of Queens
I am a huge fan of Kevin James and absolutely loved him as Doug in this show.  He was the perfect actor for that part.  This is another show where I've seen the episodes countless times.  It never gets old.

What are some of your favorite shows?

*Review* Nova by Rebecca Yarros

The only heart he wants is the one he already broke...

He's Landon Rhodes.
The Renegade they call Nova.
Sinfully gorgeous, broody, tatted-up, professional snowboarder.
Four-time X Games medalist—
Full-time heartbreaker.

They say a girl broke him once—
That's why he's so reckless, so driven, so careless with his conquests.
But I'm that girl.
They can call me his curse all they want.
He and I both know the truth—
He's the one who destroyed me,
And I'm not the sucker who will let that happen again.

***NOVA can be read as a standalone***

My Review:
3 out of 5 stars

I really loved the first book in this series but this book just didn't sit very well with me unfortunately. I understand that Rachel was hurt by Landon in the past. I get that. I really do. We've all been hurt by someone and know what kind of pain that can bring, but wow. The level that she took her hatred, bitterness, and actions toward Landon just really started to grate on my nerves. I had to skip through part of the book because I couldn't take it anymore. I just really disliked Rachel as a character and it took away from my enjoyment of the book. I also wish there would have been more Renegades style action in this one. I'm glad Landon got the woman he'd always wanted and he ended up happy though.

*Release Blitz + Review* Edge of Brotherhood by Molly E Lee

Photo & Cover Design: Regina Wamba / MaeIDesign and Photography Release Date: April 19, 2017
What do Dash Lexington, Easton Wells, and Connell Murphey have in common?
They put their lives on the line each day they clock into work. That and their fierce love for the women who match them step for step.
When the studio head who produces both Dash and Easton’s shows announces auditions for a special series to highlight the E.D.G.E men’s skills, Connell and an extreme stunt man named Wade Roberts are the first stars chosen.
Their objective? Accompany Easton deep in the Amazon where he’s recently discovered the lost city of Paititi. With half the structure submerged in dangerous waters, a slew of unpredictable rainforest storms, and a nearly inaccessible location, each man will have to put aside his alpha tendencies and utilize his skills in order to survive the perils of the City of Gold.
But when an enemy from Easton’s past threatens the love of his life, she is met with the wrath of the newly formed E.D.G.E. clan, who will stop at nothing to protect the women they love.
My Review:
5 out of 5 stars

Absolute perfection is how I would describe this story. Molly is a genius, plain and simple. I've loved all of the books in the Love on the Edge series. Each guy is unique and has their own skill set along with an awesome woman by their side. Now, to bring them all together on this adventure is just... wow. The setting is described in such great detail that you feel like you are right there with the characters as everything is happening. Molly has an incredible talent with words and painting the picture for the reader. It's really amazing how she's able to do that. I finished the book a little while ago and my mind is still reeling from everything that happened. You've got sassy and strong females, alpha males who will do anything for their women and each other, danger, excitement, suspense, mystery, and the twist that you will never see coming. Absolutely amazing. This will without a doubt go down as one of my top reads for this year, maybe even ever. Wade is going to the top of my list of favorite book boyfriends. He's funny, sarcastic, and has a skill set a mile long! I really enjoyed his addition to the E.D.G.E men and what they have to offer.

Lacy takes the kittens home to care for them until they can be properly claimed by Annie's family or friends, but after a busy day of work, she returns home to find them missing. And when Lacy learns the cats are set to inherit Annie's fortune, she begins to wonder if the killer was after the kittens all along. Now Lacy will stop at nothing to save the Siamese and find justice for Annie--if the killer doesn’t sink his claws into her first.

Luckily, Lacy has the help of handsome NOLA PD homicide detective Jack Oliver to help her catch the cat-napper before its too late in Cat Got Your Cash, the endearing second Kitty Couture mystery from Julie Chase.

My Review:
4 out of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book! I haven't read the first book in this series but I will definitely be going back to read it. There are a lot of enjoyable characters in this book. There are a number of other things going on so I was constantly invested in the story, needing to know what would happen next and how everything would turn out. The killer wasn't easy to figure out. Once I thought I knew who it was, suspicion would go to someone else. I was totally taken by surprise! I really liked the idea of Lacy's shop. It's such a unique and cute idea. I also loved the descriptions of the French Quarter and other areas in New Orleans. You really get a feel for the environment down there and are able to picture everything like you're actually there yourself. I'm looking forward to reading future books in this series.
